GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Director of Occupancy and direct supervision of the Transfer Process Coordinator
and the Assistant Director of Occupancy, shall provide support for the counseling staff of the Occupancy
Department, including moderately complex clerical and other office duties such as typing, filing, gathering and
verifying statistical data and other information, processing mail, proofreading, and responding to telephone
inquiries.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists staff duplicating materials for distribution to applicants/residents.
• Prepares bulk mailings to potential residents.
• Stocks the Housing Service Center, posts up-to-date forms.
• Schedules interviews with applicants.
• Provides individual housing counseling to applicants.
• Composes correspondence within limits of established procedures.
• Compiles, analyzes, and maintains financial, statistical and other records as directed.
• Works under general supervision following departmental rules, regulations and policies, requiring the ability
to plan and perform operations to complete assigned tasks according to prescribed time schedules.
• Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED is required and experience with computer software programs is preferred.
Considerable knowledge of office management principles, techniques, and practices. Ability to communicate
effectively verbally and in writing, and have a demonstrated competence and sensitivity working with low
income, culturally diverse individuals.
