JOB DESCRIPTION The Outreach & Technology Coordinator (OTC) will serve as a member on the Connecting Citizens team, and will implement technology systems and traditional outreach efforts to recruit volunteers and to connect citizens with the information they need to participate in civic life. Responsibilities:
• Utilize technology and in-person outreach to recruit residents to volunteer and participate in other civic activities. Each OTC will recruit and coordinate at least 30 volunteers and document at least 100 additional individuals participated in community activities as a result of the member’s service.
• Update content on SCI community portal websites, weekly civic eBlasts, community partner sites and other websites in order to recruit residents to participate in volunteerism and other civic activities.
• Market the SCI community website, eBlast newsletter, and host partner website, if applicable, to organizations and individuals to increase usage by at least 10%. Facilitate trainings and technical assistance to help agencies and residents use these technology tools effectively.
• Help to coordinate community events that unite diverse individuals.
• Manage contact information of volunteers, website and eblast subscribers and other contacts.
• Create marketing materials to promote the community website, volunteer opportunities and community events.
• One OTC per community will serve as the primary webmaster for one of the Drupal-based SCI community websites. These members will also be the primary editors for the local civic eBlast.
• OTCs who are not serving as a community site webmaster will spend more of their time coordinating volunteer programs and community events.
