JOBS TO PROTECT OUR DRINKING WATER ($10-15/HR)
Massachusetts has some of the best and cleanest drinking water in the country. This is in a large part because we have protected over 50,000 acres of land surrounding the Quabbin Reservoir, which provides over 2 million people with drinking water.
Unfortunately, over the past few years logging around the Quabbin reservoir has put our drinking water at risk. The forest that surrounds the Quabin acts as a natural filtration device, keeping oil and other pollutants out of the reservoir.
Last year, we won a temporary ban on logging around the Quabbin, but that is set to expire. In order to convince Governor Patrick to permanently protect the Quabbin Reservoir, we need to show Governor Patrick that the people of Massachusetts want to protect our drinking water and the Quabbin reservoir.
So we’re hiring people to get out into neighborhoods and build the public support it will take to protect our drinking water and the Quabbin!
We have both part-time and full-time positions available. The average salary comes to between $10-15/HR, and we can be fairly flexible with students’ schedules.
