TITLE:Product Designer---(Giftware/Tabletop/Home Décor)

THE COMPANY: Our client is a designer and marketer of giftware, tabletop and other home décor products. Product line extension and continued business growth require the addition of a Designer to develop new products.

THE POSITION: The selected candidate will work with manufacturers, product development/marketing, quality assurance, and with outside vendors to ensure that product specifications are met. Will identify new product categories and products. Will prepare conceptual drawings, sketches, and renderings. Will also create prototype and master models used for manufacturing. Will participate in the creative, strategic, and design development process. Will design product in a broad range of materials. Will evaluate and be current on industry color and product trends. Will review and approve samples, attend tradeshows, and travel to outside vendors as needed.

THE CANDIDATE: Requires a BS/BA in Industrial Design, Fine Arts, or in a related field, along with a minimum of 3 years of product design experience. Must be adept at creating models and be knowledgeable of manufacturing processes for a variety of materials including glass, crystal, ceramics, silver, metal, and polyresin. Should be proficient with CAD software and in using QuarkXpress, PhotoShop, and Illustrator. Must have strong interest in interpreting trends, and be passionate about developing unique, innovative, and saleable products. Excellent communication skills and eagerness to contribute in a dynamic team oriented environment is a must.
