SALARY: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 Annually
DEPARTMENT: Community Initiatives Bureau
DUTIES:
-Provides overall management of Oral Health initiatives.
-Establishes program priorities and identifies resources for program development in conjunction with internal and external partners.
-Designs and manages program activities including outreach, screening and referral; education, training, policy/advocacy, evaluations and other areas.
-Represents BPHC at the Oral Health Advocacy Taskforce and the Better Oral Health for Massachusetts Coalition
-Coordinates and facilitates regular partnership meetings with internal and external partners.
-Schedules, coordinates, and runs oral health screenings as needed. Provide support to members of the partnership through coordination of screenings, appointments, materials and resources, data collection and analysis.
-In coordination with Mayor’s Health Line conduct annual survey of available dental services to Boston residents and communicates to wide network of partners. Develop referral system for services
-Responsible for data management, and analysis for all required grant and other reports.
-Responsible for grant reporting and budget management as required by the funder.
-Presents project findings at conferences, meetings, and for community partners.
-Strengthens partnerships with community based organizations; academic institutions; community health centers and government and private/non-profit agencies. Supports coordination of BPHC oral health efforts. Participates with other BPHC program activities as needed.
-Supervises staff, interns and volunteers as appropriate.
-Work in a confidential capacity with the Director including materials and matters of a highly sensitive nature. Meet regularly with director regarding all aspects of program operations, including but not limited to matters pertaining to program staff and other confidential matters. Operate independently. Use independent judgment and discretion to make decisions affecting the program and staff as it relates to program operations/services and BPHC policy.
-Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-BA/BS required. Master’s degree in public health, public policy, social work or related field is preferred.
-A minimum of 3-5 years of management and/or clinical experience is required.
-Strong organizational, as well as written and verbal communication skills. Grant writing and meeting facilitation preferred.
-Ability to work independently.
-Experience planning community meetings and events.
-Demonstrated successful experience working with diverse populations and staffing is required.
-Demonstrated expertise in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, web and data management programs required.
-Applicant must have a demonstrated ability to plan, implement, coordinate and promote programs and services. Demonstrated ability to network with dental organizations, community health centers and other community organizations preferred.
-Strong commitment to oral health
-Familiarity with Boston neighborhoods and community resources preferred.
-This position requires a current driver’s license and ability to travel though out the city.
-This position requires direct client/patient contact and as a result of such direct contact, certain immunizations will be recommended and/or required prior to commencement of employment duties.
