TITLE: Special Projects Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Local Corporate Sponsorship
TYPE OF POSITION: AEEF, Full-Time, Staff

Department Overview:
The Local Corporate Sponsorship (LCS) department raises revenue for the Foundation from the Boston business community. The local sales team is supported by a Local Sales Manager, a Director of Corporate Marketing/Client Service, and the Special Projects Assistant.

Position Overview:
Under the general supervision of the General Sales Manager, the Special Projects Assistant provides support for the General Sales Manager, Local Sales Manager, and the LCS sales staff to ensure the efficient operation of the department. Support involves assisting the Sales Managers with tracking and reporting sales activity and projections through the department’s FileMaker database and Microsoft Excel, maintaining and improving the data within the department database, shepherding the client contract process, mining data sources for audience and prospect research, assisting with preparation of sales presentations and proposals, (Adobe InDesign, Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat), organizing and maintaining the department server, making travel arrangements, and providing general administrative support (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). The Special Projects Assistant also serves as the IT contact for the department.

Skills Required:
The ideal candidate is driven, self-disciplined, excellent at time management, has a track record of diplomatic and organizational skills, and has a strong sense of design. Computer and database management skills including knowledge of FileMaker, Adobe InDesign and Acrobat, and Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Apple/Mac experience strongly preferred. Position requires strong communications skills and the ability to work collaboratively. Candidates should have excellent project management skills, coupled with the proven ability to work independently to problem solve, set priorities and manage deadlines. High attention to detail and accuracy are required.

Educational Requirements:
A Bachelor’ degree and one- to three-years of professional experience in a sales or marketing environment preferred.
