Medical Practice Coordinator Brookline, MA

High quality Brookline-based neurology practice seeks a full time Medical Office Coordinator. This is a solo practice which takes pride in exceptional service to patients and referring care providers. We regard working as medical providers as a calling, not a job. The physician is board-certified in neurology but also internal medicine and sleep medicine. The practice team enthusiastically supports the patient-centered care model that often extends beyond the scope of symptoms originally presented by the patient. The successful candidate for this position will be someone who is reliable, well-organized, engaging, sympathetic, articulate, creative, persistent, resilient, adaptive, honest, ethical and energetic. A good sense of humor, the ability to work independently to solve problems and update/improve practice policies would be key assets. The successful candidate must be able to take ownership of the job, and provide outstanding service to patients, caregivers and referral sources. The practice is located on Beacon Street in Brookline, just down the street from Coolidge Corner and it is directly on the green line. A list of job functions, minimum qualifications and valued personal qualities for the Coordinator position follow: Job functions: 1. Ensures that each patient's right to care and privacy are respected. 2. Oversees and coordinates with independent billing service, does light coding, monitors bank deposits and transfers deposits from Century Bank to Bank of America. 3. Welcomes and engages arriving patients and caregivers. 4. Answers phones and distributes messages appropriately. 5. Processes patients using the computer-based eClinicalWorks scheduling system for appointments, and/or testing 6. Orders office and medical supplies and ensures security of all medications. 7. Captures and enters adequately detailed up-to-date patient demographic and financial information 8. Oversees independent cleaning service to ensure that office is thoroughly cleaned. 9. Organizes the office, files, supplies and equipment 10 Participates in developing policies and procedures that will enhance the quality and productivity of the practice. 11. Determines insurance coverage and payer requirements and other basic benefits information for patients, as needed. 12. Other duties as assigned from time-to-time Minimum qualifications: 1. High school diploma but candidates with undergraduate education and training relevant to this position are welcome to apply 2. One to three years working as Coordinator or similar position in a Medical Office3. Facility with computers and software including: eCW, MS Office applications and Quick Books. 4. Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented with strong multi-taking ability 5. Familiarity with medical terminology 6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 7. Knowledge of patient billing 8.Ability to secure confidential information
