Job Title: Technologist
BASIC SUMMARY: Maintain and monitor the health, production, and physical environment of CRL or external customer animals within isolators, microisolator caging or barrier room operations involving significantly complex instructions and requiring technical expertise.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Understand and comply with all SOPs pertaining to specific area. Provide input into the creation/revision of SOPs and assist in implementation and training of new SOPs.
•Perform isolator animal husbandry - which can include feed, watering, and cleaning cages as required. Monitor animal health, visually, and by following swab and health monitoring schedules.
•Maintain accurate departmental and isolator record keeping. Participate in preparation of reports, completion of customer paperwork.
•Participate in planning/coordination of customer projects for department.
•Strictly follow all procedures necessary to maintain the isolator barrier, including correct spraying, gamma cart, and transfer procedures.
•Assist in packing and ship animals to customer.
•Be responsible for knowledge and correct use of fostering isolator procedures.
•May be responsible for transponding, tail sampling, test mating or earmarking within isolators.
•Strictly maintaining and following complex breed procedures to ensure appropriate production levels and customer work plan.
•May act as team leader in specific departmental projects.
•Coordinate other operations personnel in department in temporary absence of group leader. Assist in the training of new personnel.
•Assist in providing leadership and motivation to departmental personnel.
•Perform general housekeeping and adhere to safety procedures.
•Perform all other related duties as assigned

Only Qualification in a Bachelor’s Degree. We will train.
