We are seeking a full-time apprentice embalmer to be part of our team at a high volume Southeastern Massachusetts funeral establishment.

Duties include, but not limited to: Embalming, Dressing and Casketing of Remains, Cosmetics, Removals, Flowers, Working Funerals, etc.

Past funeral home experience is preferred.

Must be able to perform heavy lifting tasks and one person removals at hospitals and nursing homes, if needed.
  • 40 hours per week

  • On-call status (various nights and rotating weekends)
Preference will be given to applicants who live in or intend to live in the Southeastern Massachusetts area.

Position Title: Administrative Assistant
Position Type: Part Time

The Administrative Assistant supports the smooth operation and communications of The Gardens at Gethsemane program by administrative and reception support, and by managing regular electronic data entry.

Administrative responsibilities include:
  • Provide reception Desk coverage when needed.
  • Manage The Gardens database in web cemeteries including: Family services intake and follow-up data, enter and update contact data including transcribing recorded information, and enter and update communications and event data.
  • Provide administrative support for the quarterly constant contact.
  • Take notes at Board meetings
  • Receive and distribute incoming mail. Process outgoing mail. File paper records as needed.
  • Monitor supplies and prepare orders for office and training supplies as needed.
  • Support invitations, RSVP tracking, and follow-up at events, including: Memorial Day Service, Veterans Day celebrations and other events as assigned.
  • Assist in Families services when needed
Communications responsibilities include:
  • Assist in social media communications and updates.
  • Submit website updates to web master.
  • Assist President Write and distribute quarterly newsletter.
  • Maintain and update photos and compelling success stories to be used in communications.
  • Support other communications as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills including excellent writing and telephone skills.
  • Familiar and comfortable with social media such as LinkedIn and Facebook.
  • Highly organized. Comfortable supporting a dedicated, very busy team of 8, communicating effectively, offering assistance, and providing information.
  • Strong core skills in Word and Excel. Excellent, accurate keyboarding and data entry ability.
  • Able to move and organize supplies, including cartons of copy paper.
Hourly salary: $10.00 per hour
