A highly respected leading outwear manufacturer is seeking a qualified
Assistant Technical Designer/Product Developer. This position reports to the
Director of Product Development. This is an exciting opportunity to get in on
and grow with a rapidly expanding apparel division.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Work with vendors sourcing fabrics and trims
• Interact daily with Design and Production teams
• Flat Sketch in Illustrator and Photoshop
• Assist in developing samples
• Assist in building technical packages including Bill of Materials, specs,
construction, etc.
• Schedule internal fittings, depending on due date and prioritize accordingly
• Assist in costing process
• Responsible for maintaining and updating Style and pattern files, sample
closet, fabric books, and various libraries
• Assist in miscellaneous projects as assigned
Skills and Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree from 4 year College of Fashion Design or Patternmaking
Program
• At least one year related experience. Internship experience preferred
• Basic patternmaking skills
• Textile knowledge
• Sewing skills; ability to work basic sewing/pressing equipment
• Good verbal and written communication skills required. Strong interpersonal
skills
• Very strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, detail orientation,
follow through
• Computer proficiency. Must know: Excel; Word; Outlook; Photoshop; Illustrator
