A Cape Cod Non-Profit providing humane programs for abandoned animals is looking for a passionate, hands-on leader for their Shelter Manager/Veterinary Technician position. This person will be responsible for managing the Shelter, off-site rescues and adoption center, oversight of Animal Care Attendants, dispatching of calls, trapping, and, performing veterinary technician responsibilities to ensure the health of all animals in their care. The Shelter Manager oversees various programs including foster care, spay/neuter assist, vet assist, and the volunteer program. They will work collaboratively with management to ensure effective shelter operation, and maintains professional and collaborative relationships with partnered Veterinary Clinics that serve our animals.
A candidate for this position must have a 2-year associate's degree in veterinary technology and successfully passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE). The ideal candidate will have hands on management experience with the ability to wear all hats and provide detailed follow-through. Prior experience working with animals, especially cats, is preferred. Employee must have a valid driver’s license.
