Career Services Summer Internship
The Office of Career Services at SMFA ensures that students have the necessary support to navigate their evolving path from art student to creative professional. OCS provides career resources and advising, workshops, on-campus events and employment opportunities across a spectrum of creative industries. Focused on helping students gain entrepreneurial skills and accelerating their employment, the Office provides students with practical instruction in the areas of resume development, presentation and marketing, portfolio preparation, professional networking, and interviewing. OCS cultivates employer relations, increasing professional connections and employment prospects for all students.
OCS is seeking a summer intern who will support the basic daily functions of the office, assist with industry-based employment research, update online resource information, and conduct student success phone polls.
Responsibilities:
• Enter professional opportunities online
• Respond to phone and email inquiries
• Assist with updating and re-organizing resources
• Research special projects
Qualifications:
• Strong professional communication skills, both oral and written
• Possess strong organizational abilities
• Careful attention to detail
• Familiarity with computers, MS Office Software in particular
• Reliability and motivation
• Ability to commit to 8 hours per week minimum; flexible schedule
