Summer Internships & Part-time Employment Fitness and Wellness Department
Location: Charles River YMCA. Needham, MA
o Gain experience in the fitness and wellness industry
o Learn about the profession of Personal Training. Receive guidance and practice
o Fitness Program Design, Nutrition research
o Learn about Management and jobs within the YMCA
o Receive school credit for your time
o Assist with Fitness & Wellness Programming
o Work on Blog, Newsletter, Website
o Design Fitness Templates
o Assist with fitness and wellness duties
Requirements:
· Strong interest and/or experience in Fitness, Nutrition, and Wellness
· Strong Word Processing/Design, Writing, and Interpersonal Skills
· Has Transportation
Internship Outline:
o Learn about Health & Wellness & non-profit Industry through immersion
o Structure of non-profits and budgeting, marketing, community outreach
o Learn about fitness industry & personal training:
o program and workout design, the business of personal training, marketing yourself to clients, fitness and wellness promotion
o Assist with marketing, design and writing:
o Newsletters, blog, website, flyers
o Assist with floor-staff duties when necessary:
o Answer member questions, help with equipment, light cleaning

3) Personal relationship/experience with health/fitness wellness (exercise, nutrition, sports)
