Technical Design Internship
Position Summary:
Responsible for providing support to the Technical Design team. There will also be continuous interactions with the Merchandising and Product Development groups. The successful candidate will gain a solid understanding about fit and how it works into the clothing development cycle.
Essential Position Responsibilities:
Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support Technical Designers in processing workloads.
- Produce solid, detailed technical design documents.
- Produce clear, detailed fit documentation and attend fit sessions.
- Input and notify technical design team regarding fit sessions and sample arrival.
- Process and order supplies as needed.
- Ship items via Federal Express, as needed.
- Set up new specification templates in computer system.
- Maintain Body Block Book and update changes in system.
- Learn and develop key insights on return rate analysis and technical problem solving and how both affect our catalog and retail environments.
- Participate in special projects such as assisting with the coordination of a style or group of styles to process through life cycle with more senior level technical design staff.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining storage room for samples by season and category.
- Schedule and confirm fit times with models.
- Receive, process, and deliver mail for Technical Design.
- Additional responsibilities will be assigned based on business needs.
- Good computer skills and the ability to easily work with Excel and Word.
- Working toward a degree in Merchandising, Design or Pattern Making/Product Development.
- Must be organized and work well in a fast paced environment.
- Must be able to multi task and prioritize.
- Must be a team player and have an entrepreneurial spirit.
