Position Title: Prize Intern
Peace First seeks an intern for the Peace First Prize, based out of our national office in downtown Boston. This position supports all aspects of Prize search and selection. In fall months, this will focus on the final stages of winner selection and planning for the Prize cycle. This is an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand experience in an innovative national program, support a youth-led movement, and learn more about what goes into a national multi-stage selection process.
Responsibilities
• Research prospective applicants, conduct outreach to nominating organizations, and help to manage systems that support the search process
• Identify and provide ongoing peacemaking resources to candidates who are not advancing but are part of our community of peacemakers
• Support analysis of Prize search and selection processes
• Data entry and other special projects as assigned
Qualifications
This internship is open to students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate school program.
Applicants must possess:
• Commitment to championing youth-led social change as well as improving the quality of opportunities for children to prevent bullying and youth violence
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
• Strong research and writing skills
• Flexibility, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
• Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, databases, and internet research
