Waverley Knobs Entertainment is a Boston-based film & video production company focusing on creative films and promotional productions for artists & businesses. Our mission is to create engaging and thought-provoking movies, music videos and commercial videos, within a personal, collaborative process with our cast, crew and clients.

DESCRIPTION:

This internship is a perfect fit for an intern interested in social media, communications/PR, small businesses, and/or starting your own company.

Waverley Knobs Entertainment is a hands-on learning environment in which interns will learn how a company creates and implements their PR and social media strategies.

Interns will obtain knowledge of how to promote two-way communication between a company and its customers, a greater understanding of how to leverage social media for marketing and PR purposes, stronger writing and graphic design skills, as well as a variety of completed works for their portfolios. They will learn about setting goals, evaluating existing social media channels, creating, implementing and reporting on social media and PR strategies.

Intern projects will include high-level assignments with direct impact on business results. This is a great opportunity to work with a start-up and learn all aspects of building a business. We promote creativity and self-starters with room for self-designed and led projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· create written and visual content for social media sites, such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Vine, etc.
· research, write and submit pitches and press releases
· work with the CEO to foster relationships with journalists and the media, both digitally and using traditional PR outlets
· maintain an updated PR database
· research and assist in the development of business leads through social media engagement
· help manage consistency in our branding across digital and print platforms
· contribute original content to website and newsletter, such as articles on the industry or social media trends

HOURS AND CREDIT:

This is an unpaid internship for credit. Please check with your academic department about their requirements regarding internships.

Internship hours must be between Monday – Friday and the hours of 10 am – 6:00 pm, totaling a minimum of 16 hours per week. Must be available at least 1-2 days per week to work in the office; the rest of the time commitment can be done off-site via telecommuting.

· A basic understanding of traditional PR and current online technology and social media = a plus!
