Marketer/Assistant needed in Cambridge!

1 Broadway
Cambridge, MA
– Accessible via public transportation

 Marketer/Assistant Position, Technology Media Site

We're looking for an ambitious person who's eager for experience and real, hands-on internet business skills (and people skills), and who's excited to be involved with a growing startup team. We don't expect someone with years of business experience, or an MBA, but someone who's hungry to learn and has a track-record of beating the status quo in everything they've done before.

*** What's Involved -

You'll be tanking a variety of marketing and web-oriented tasks, including:

- Implementing marketing and email marketing technologies for our sites / the projects of our clients
^ These might include GetResponse, Infusionsoft, etc...
- Helping create or assemble web content across a number of web properties (Wordpress, etc…)
- Helping to edit video or audio content, or create basic graphics
- Contacting potential clients / interviewees for our web show
- More….

You'll be coached by us along the way to ensure that you learn the best practices of each, and if you have a nack for new and interesting activities (and are very computer-literate), you'll catch right on. Bare in mind, as a startup team, tasks may involve anything from getting groceries to helping enter data into the computer - whatever the day requires! In other words, you won't be wearing a button-up shirt in the same cubicle all day.

*** Who We Are -

We run TechEmergence.com (a website dedicated to news in Startups and Emerging Technologies), and Science of Skill (a website dedicated to skill development in the martial arts). Our multiple businesses also include consulting and coaching entrepreneurs on marketing tools such as Infusionsoft, GetResponse, MailChimp, etc… (Google them if you are not yet familiar).

We are incessant about maximizing every minute, about not only "getting things done," and focusing on priorities, but also on building our capacities and characters so that we're better every day - even MORE equipped to tackle greater tasks with even more focus and gusto.

That being said, we enjoy work, and we don't go a day without fun in what we're doing. This comes not just from the excitement of ambitious web and marketing projects, but from being fun-loving people at heart.

*** What We're Looking For -

We want to see someone who'd hungry to learn and do, someone who wants to be involved in work that will push them, that will challenge them, and will ultimately be fulfilling. We like to see people who have enthusiasm, but who also can knuckle down to a computer like a battle station.

*** Compensation -

This position will begin at $12.00/hour, and will progress with the opportunity to earn commissions (mostly on phone appointments set, or sales activities if required), and with a 2-month trial period, afterward your performance will be assessed and raises may occur from there.

*** Qualifications -

We're looking more for character and gusto than for specific qualifications, and we believe that a track record of success and ambition is the best predictor of seeing more of the same. With that being said, here are some limited requirements for the position:

- Functional typing speed of 35 words per minute (no "hunting and pecking" for keys)
- Basic familiarity with social media platforms like Facebook, and blogging platforms like Wordpress
- Ability to learn quickly, especially new technologies and tasks

*** How to Apply -

- Find two parts of this application that called out to you and made you interested in the job itself, and write a paragraph about each
- Write a single paragraph of why you're a fit for this position
- Attach a resume including a phone number and an email address
- Include at least 2 references of people who you've worked with or worked for in the past
