Assistant Technical Designer in Sharon, MA

The Assistant Technical Designer works in the Apparel Design area of the Production Department. The position is responsible for assisting the Technical Designer with the Technical Design and Quality Control of all Charles River Apparel garments.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: 
Assist Technical designer in setting up Tech-packs with Technical flat sketches, trims, construction, measurements etc…
Helps to measure and evaluate samples.
Update specs with reference to construction, color or trim changes.
Helps evaluate in house testing of garments.
Inspects all incoming shipments and salesman samples and addresses all quality issues with factories.
Maintain records of all quality issues from shipments.
Maintains records of all rejected products going to 2nd quality.
Maintains returns reports related to quality.
Login all incoming samples packages.
Tracks arrival of all fit, PP, TOP and photo samples.
Organize heavy inflow of fit and sourcing samples.
Maintain fabric recap spreadsheet to make sure fabric information and prices are up to date.
Maintains records of all approved paper patterns.
Helps to send out specs and samples for sourcing reference.
Tracks all trims and sample submission and proactively request all the missing and pending items.

Critical Factors for Success:
Detail oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of garment testing standards and protocols
Knowledge of garment construction and graded specs.
Experience in daily communication with overseas partners.
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Minimum Qualifications:
College degree in Apparel or related field.
1-2 years of experience working in a technical design role.
Pattern making experience a plus.
Computer Skills – Outlook, MS office, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop.
