The Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce is looking for enthusiastic student interns to assist with the chamber’s efforts to transform Newton-Needham area into a destination for innovation economy sector businesses.
The Newton-Needham area is already home to more than 150 companies in the high tech/innovation sector and continues to grow. Working with a coalition of state, municipal, non-profits and private businesses, we’ve designated an area of approximately 500 acres as the N2 Innovation Corridor and are now looking to make that vision a reality.
Ideal candidates will have an interest in interest in one or more of the following areas: marketing, economic development, public relations, event planning, social media, web design or journalism to assist with this project. Strong writing and research skills required.
The primary scope of your project can be tailored to your specific interests but you will also be called upon to assist with maintaining our website and social media. You will also play a central role helping organize, manage and run a wide variety of N2 Corridor program and events.
Most of your work week will occur during normal business hours, however several times each month you must also be available to work early weekday mornings and/or weekday evenings.
Internships are unpaid.
About the Chamber:The Newton-Needham Chamber is a busy, not-for-profit organization with a robust menu of programs, events and services. We have a small staff but a large, committed, volunteer corps. Everyone on our team must be open to participating in all aspects of the chamber’s daily operation. We’re actively looking to modernize the chamber member experience to align with current business trends. This is your chance to be part of this transformation.
The Chamber is located on Needham Street in Newton. A short drive or about a 25 minute walk from the Newton Highlands train station, one stop away from Newton Center.
