Customer Service Representative – Newton, MA

Reports to: Head of Order Processing

Objective:

The Sales Service Representative’s (SSR) primary task is handle customer orders and all related issues / inquiries for a defined geographical territory and / or assigned specific accounts. The process includes handling customer orders from start to finish, meaning from the time an order is received, to confirmation that inventory is available, on-time delivery of goods, accurate invoicing to timely payment by the customer. To successfully complete the primary objective, the SSR must be both reactive and proactive in working and communicating with their customers. The secondary objective of the SSR is to assist the Sales Managers in servicing customers.

Responsibility:
  • Processing and managing customer orders on our SAP system
  • Handling all customer inquiries concerning customer orders, inventory availability and pricing
  • Coordinating shipments and other issues with our US warehouses, as well as with our manufacturing plants in Canada and Europe
  • Processing invoices and communicating with customers regarding payment of invoices
  • Providing necessary sales support to the Regional Sales Managers
Requirements:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • 3+ years customer service experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well organized, detail oriented, proactive and a team player
  • Strong computer skills; Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Experience with SAP computer system is desirable
  • Enjoys working in an international team-oriented environment
