Our campaign is organizing efforts to educate the residents of MA about Question 3 on the November ballot and we’re running a statewide program backed up by a broad-based group of supporters and public endorsers.
This is an exciting internship opportunity for any of Mount Ida students who are interested in a getting their foot in the door with the gaming operators who would like to build and manage the casino and hospitality facilities here in Massachusetts. Interns for the Coalition will have the opportunity to help organize and participate in canvasses, phone banks, and work community and voter outreach events to help ensure that the current casino gaming law stands. If these casino and hotel facilities are built, there will be thousands of permanent jobs in over 400 different classifications, many of these in the hospitality sector. Interns would certainly be prime applicants for those future careers.
Fellow will be heavily involved in all areas of the operation:
- Building, staffing and executing coalition events
- Helping draft coalition materials and translating materials
- Assisting with social media development and online networking
- Speaking to voters and residents about the coalition and its vision
- Working with proprietary data programs
- Helping with research
- Recruiting volunteers and supporters
- Organizing grassroots efforts such as phone banking and door knocking
- Work with and network to community organizations, businesses, elected officials and all coalition partners
Time Commitment: Fellows should commit to minimally 10-15 hours per week, from September 2nd through Nov 21st (approx.)
Hours: Our schedule is very flexible. Our office is open Monday to Friday 10:00AM to 9:00PM and weekends are as needed. Public events in the community are also seven days a week.
Fellowships are open to all students in all academic programs.
