Lucky Horse Equine Rescue, located in Bolton, MA is currently seeking a Program Director. I think this position may be of interest to and appropriate for some current seniors and alumni.

Lucky Horse Equine Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization started in 2008 to protect unwanted, abandoned, neglected or slaughter-bound horses by saving, caring for and rehabbing these equines in need and placing them in compatible, loving homes where they can lead contented and productive lives. We specialize in nurse mare foals and kill pen rescues.

The Program Director is responsible for managing the rescue in all areas including but not limited to fundraising, volunteer coordination, and hands-on work with the horses from initial evaluation to placement in their forever homes. The Director will report directly to the Board. The Director will lead the organization with the guidance of the Board including the mission, vision and philosophy as set forth.

The Program Director is responsible for overall strategic planning, operation, financial management, website management and policy and program enforcement for the rescue. The Program Director will be required to submit monthly reports updating progress in all areas.

Ideal candidate would have advanced natural horsemanship skills and the ability to train horses and volunteers using NH principles. Must be equine knowledgeable and have 2 plus years experience in non profit administration and program implementation.
Excellent computer skills. Proficient in MS Office.
Excellent oral/written skills with the ability to maintain effective internal and external relationships. Experience in grant writing. Must be passionate about our cause!!
