DEVELOPMENT INTERN

Intern duties may include assisting with: research on prospective donors and grantors, grant preparation, market research projects, event planning, event invitation and fundraising mailings, data entry using Raiser’s Edge, and other projects as assigned. Interns may have the opportunity to shadow Historic New England staff members based on their career interests, assist with staffing events, and sit in on team meetings. This is an opportunity for a student interested in non-profit administration to experience the basics of fundraising in a team environment at a large non-profit arts organization.

Qualifications: Students pursuing an undergraduate degree in non-profit or arts administration, marketing or communications, or history are encouraged to apply. Applicants with experience volunteering or working in an office administration, historic preservation, or event planning setting are encouraged to apply. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, experience with Internet research, data entry, and basic office tasks, and excellent communications skills are required.

Internships will be available for a minimum of 12 weeks beginning in September and require a commitment of 8-12 hours per week during 9-5 weekday hours. Internships are unpaid but may be completed for course credit. Interns receive Historic New England membership benefits throughout the duration of their internship.
