What we do: Our program provides medical insurance, wage-loss, rehabilitation and impairment benefits to Federal employees who are injured on the job or who suffer an occupational illness as a result of workplace exposure.
Our Workers' Compensation Claims Examiners review, develop and adjudicate injury and illness claims under the Federal Employees' Compensation Act (FECA). They administer medical and wage-loss benefits, and advise interested parties and provide technical information of both a medical and quasi-legal character. They prepare findings of fact, conduct, negotiate and mediate informal pre-hearings and conferences; prepare formal compensation orders and statements with recommendations for action; and they manage and adjudicate long-term disability and permanent impairment claims. The position is fast-paced and involves a high-level of responsibility and authority.
