Patient Assistant Intern

Internship Description: Assist in the day to day operations of the Family Resource Room on the 9th floor. This room serves as a respite and resource for our inpatient families that travel near or far to have their child or patient treated at Children’s Hospital Boston. The room supports and nurtures the parent/caregiver during long and frequent admissions. Student will serve as an assistant to the coordinator, with work on projects for the room, parent relaxation program, special events, computer help, and distraction play with video games, co-facilitate groups, and have the option to develop and/or implement group activities for the families.
Schedule: Hours can be flexible to meet their needs. The employer would like to be able to add back hours to keep the room open until 7:30pm and weekends if a student could accommodate those hours, that would make some families very pleased.
Student need to be very mature, independent and willing to take in carrying out the projects.
