Loan Analyst needed!


Loan Analyst

The Loan Analyst is responsible for underwriting loans: reviewing credit when necessary, reviewing all supporting documentation and rendering the final decision on each loan all while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions*
  • Ensure a timely review of loan requests through the credit decision engine system (Capstone) and establish credit decisions in accordance with loan program guidelines. 
  • Review and analyze loan documentation for acceptance with underwriting and fraud prevention policies. 
  • Determine if additional information is required from borrowers, schools, various other sources and if necessary request this information. 
  • Update processing system (PRPC) with loan status and notes. 
  • Perform reconsideration on previously declined loans pursuant to applicant’s request. 
  • Perform all aspects of loan certification processing 
  • Maintain privacy/confidentiality of all applicant/borrower financial data and information provided as part of loan request. 
  • Assist management in upholding department and company standards and creating a positive and productive work environment. 
  • Participate on projects and other duties assigned by management team. 
Other Duties and Responsibilities

Skills, Abilities, Competencies:

· 1-2 years of high volume consumer lending/processing experience, student lending experience preferred. Experience reading Credit Bureau Reports strongly preferred.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Strong analytical skills
· Detail oriented
· General math skills
· Must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability
· Must demonstrate initiative and be pro-active
· Must demonstrate sound judgment and decision making skills
· Proficient use of Microsoft Office and internet navigation software
· Highly proficient computer skills, i.e. navigating through different system applications

Level of Education Required:

· High school diploma or equivalent work experience, BS/BA preferred

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Office environment working with personal computer for extended periods of time.
