Position Title: Dog Walking Position

We are looking for someone who:
1. Loves dogs but also understands them (knowing dog language, knowing how to approach them, how to appropriately engage them for play and training)
2. Has a reliable vehicle (small SUV is ideal but a wagon or car with a good amount of cargo space would be fine)
3. Possesses a clean driving record and is a safe driver
4. Enjoys working outdoors (in all weather conditions – sun/rain/snow) and love to exercise (ideally someone that is athletic)
5. Possesses a great deal of patience and is adaptable to change
6. Has a positive attitude
7. With a great work ethic and action oriented
8. Is outgoing, friendly and a great TEAM player
9. That has experience in some sales and customer service
10. With problem solving abilities and thinks on their feet
11. Responsible, honest and reliable
12. Possesses great communication skills
13. Open to learning how to train dogs
What the job entails:
1. Picking up and dropping off dogs in your car (we will provide protective gear for your car)
2. Taking the dogs to various off-leash parks in Newton and Weston such as: Cold Spring, McGrath, Cabot dog park and the Weston Reservoir
3. Being responsible for at least 5 dogs off-leash during our hikes
4. Managing dogs behavior at playgroups and positively rewarding good behavior
5. Walking at least 3 – 5 dogs on leash when necessary
6. Taking care of our dogs during pet visits which include: feeding/walking/training
7. Providing overnight (in the clients home) care to our dogs
8. Working closely with our staff and communicating with them throughout the day
9. Making sure that each dog you are responsible for is fully exercised

Compensation/Benefits:
1. Competitive hourly pay (depends on experience) paid bi-weekly
2. We pay for your mileage (50 cents/mile) as well as a $40 bi-weekly check to get your car cleaned.
3. Employee Bonus Program – You will get a certain percentage of every dog you bring on as a weekly client for one year.
4. For part-time employees, your hours are flexible and could be from 9am – 2pm or 11am – 4pm. If you need a day off, let a manager know 2 weeks in advance and we can most likely work it out. You will not be paid for days off.
5. For full-time employees, your hours are from 9am – 5pm. You will receive 7 days of PAID vacation, 5 PAID personal days and 5 PAID sick days.
***Please Note: Full-time is 35 hours or more. You must be on staff for at least 6 months to take advantage of these benefits.

6. It is your choice to work on major holidays. The only services we run during major holidays are in-home pet sitting and pet visits.

Salary: $12-$14/hour
