Temporary Buyer/Assistant Buyer – 6 Month Assignment
Position Summary:
Provide support to the Merchandising team in the selection, purchasing, and developing of product for company catalogs. Work closely with buyers, inventory control, product development, technical, sourcing, catalog production and vendors in order to assure a consistent and accurate flow of information.

Essential Position Responsibilities:
·         Maintain and continuously update buyer assortment plans, as well as communicating changes to all involved depts.
·         Partner with the Product Development team, Inventory Control and Technical on the development of assortment plans, order placement and fit of merchandise.
·         Provide selling analysis by season, by size range, by color, and by style attributes, etc.
·         Work cross-functionally between numerous departments within the organization.
·         Work with vendors to obtain photo and fit samples, sizing info, product details, and swatches.
·         Manage photo sample inventory by season.
·         Update WIPS report as needed.
·         Proof-read copy for each catalog ensuring all information is correct.
·         Adhere to company processes and calendar.  
·         May require travel to assist in the sourcing and selection of product and material.                     
      
Additional Position Responsibilities:
  • Assist with selection and procurement of product and strategies to meet the customer’s needs.
  • Ensure that the pages of the catalog contain clear and concise merchandise concepts.
  • Additional responsibilities will be assigned based on business needs.
Essential Experience:
·         Minimum of 3-5 years of Merchandising/Buying experience in women’s apparel. 

Essential Knowledge and Skills:
·         Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
·        Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Commercial Ware.
·         Strong verbal and written communication skills.
·         Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.
·         Ability to work in surroundings that are fast paced and ever changing.
