Symmons Industries is seeking an energetic and passionate Graphics designer excited to get hands on experience on practically everything that comes through to the design department - which practically means ‘all’ new projects in Retail and Commercial products. This will include trade show collateral (Posters, banners pamphlets, brochures, e-mail blasts etc), retail store graphics, sell sheets, marketing literature, and many company used 'fun' projects such as t-shirt design for events, postcards etc. You will be required to wear many hats, gain a lot of experience working on numerous products and you will never be bored!
Qualifications:
Studying Graphics Design or similar degree in visual communication
Ability to strongly communicate ideas thorough sketching, writing and verbal presentation
Advanced Skills in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) required
Basic knowledge of Microsoft office software (Outlook, Work, Excel, PowerPoint) needed
Interest/ skills in Video creation/ APP creation
Common sense, Curiosity, a ‘Can do’ attitude and excellent communication skills
Currently pursuing a Full Time Degree in related field and returning to the program after completion of the internship
The Graphics Design Intern will report to and work closely with the Principal design manager and the Marketing team.
This position will be located at our Braintree, MA headquarters. Interested candidates must be able to commute to the facility. This position will begin in September with a typical work timeframe for 4 months but we can be flexible and will work with your needs. This position will pay out a total Stipend of $1000. You will be paid out in two half payments. Once at midterm and once at the completion of your timeframe.
Job Timeframe: Fall (September – January 2014)
You must be able to commute to our Braintree, MA office 3-5 days a week in order to apply. Public transportation is available but not very convenient.
